Tea Party At The Horse Barn…Fun Times!

I’ve hosted many tea parties and been to several very unique ones over the years. But Sara’s birthday tea, held at Mounted Ministries was the first time I’ve ever had tea at a horse barn…and it was a wonderful experience.

The girls started the afternoon by grooming and getting to know the horses that they would eventually ride. Mrs. Cathy Childers, owner of Mounted Ministries, was so gracious as she helped each of them work through the process of “getting comfortable” with their horse.

The ride itself was fun to watch. It is true, just like people, horses have personalities that set them apart from one another. Mariah, who has very long legs, started out on a short horse with a gated stride…it was rather funny to watch the two of them together! Grace and her horse were very well suited – both layed-back in personality, easy-going, taking life rather slow! Hannah and her horse Levi…well, that was another story in itself. Mariah eventually switched to Levi and I think those two came to some sort of understanding :)! Sara is an experienced horse-woman and was a great help to everyone – even Mrs. Norma when she took the plunge and decided to ride.

After everyone finished riding the tea table was set up, hands were washed, and under beautiful cloudy skies and cooler SC temps we enjoyed a lovely outdoor tea surrounded by an amazing countryside.

The Birthday Girl!!!
This was Mrs. Cathy’s FIRST tea! She’s so proper!!
Mr. Bob joined us for tea – it was so nice to meet him!

You can NEVER have enough pictures!

Sara is a special friend to my daughters. They think of her as a sister. It was rather amusing as the day progressed that Mr. Bob actually mentioned the fact that our group seemed like one family instead of two. I think it is because we are one family in Christ. Our hearts are knit together in Him and for each other. When you enjoy relationships like that it is a like savouring a sweet aroma.

Sharing this part of Sara’s birthday with Mrs. Cathy and Mr. Bob and being able to enjoy the horses at Mounted Ministries was a huge treat for everyone! I know several who are already asking for a return trip.

As we pack up the flowers, the baskets, and the goodies, I want to wish Sara many blessing in the years to come. Cathy, thank you so much for opening your heart to start this ministry, you have been such a blessing to us!

Like this basket, out hearts were overflowing!

Sheila great photography and heartfelt words as always.

The time shared with “family” was such a blessing. I had such a great time…my prayers were answered…the experience of ‘yes’ I did it…plus my first tea party at a barn…what a good day!

The photos show God’s creation…land, sky, animals, and His children having wonderful fellowship…our hearts felt His presence on this occasion.

Again, Sara, happy birthday…may the Lord bless you richly this coming year and always.

Who knew a “barn” tea could be so elegant! I was so proud of you and your horse ride!! Yes, sharing special moments with those that God has been so gracious to bless us with along this life journey is icing on the cake!

Oh, Sheila, You can throw a beautiful tea, no matter where it is. The pictures were gorgeous. You had the absolute perfect setting. Until May of this year, Joe and I had not been to the mountains in many many years. We are planning, however, Lord willing, another trip to Blue Ridge around the middle of October. I am soooo looking forward to that trip:)

Sue, we are VERY close to the Blue Ridge Mnts! You guys can always stop in for a visit!!! I had the wonderful privilege of just being a guest at this tea. Debbie Garrett and her two beautiful daughters put everything together and we enjoyed the day! I certainly miss our teas together. A fall tea would be nice – don’t you think?
