Entering her sophomore year is an exciting time for Hannah Noelle! We’ve waited all summer to pick up the music for the Philharmonic and IT’S FINALLY HERE!!! Practice starts next week. Her private violin lessons are already back in full swing.
School has officially begun…if I coul type those words in diminishing letters I would :). No, seriously, one of the things that I have seen happen in each of the girls as they mature is a of taking responsibility for their school work. I have loved the fact that over the last month Hannah has carried around a huge volume of “The Works of Shakespeare” and “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis. Those have been her leisure ready choices in addition to regular school literature.
She has been a young lady on a mission when it comes to her least favorite subject – math! No slacking in that department this year, steady on, tackle the job, and come out the victor has been her attitude! I LOVE it!
Hannah has a calm spirit and is very soothing – for the most part (with the exception of her relationship with Mariah) she is a peacemaker. Her laughter is infectious. It is such a joy to see her desire wisdom and godliness.
In talking with Hannah there are several goals that she has set for herself for the coming year.
*Matthew has preached on “The War on Truth” on Sunday nights at our church. Hannah said she realizes from listening to those messages how important it is for her to equip herself to stand for Truth.
*Another goal is to make better use of her time.
*Finally, to invest in her family more.
As Hannah shared these thoughts with me I had to smile because she has already begun to act in each area to make it a reality. Whether it’s caring for my mom with Alzheimer’s, or studying the word of God to know Truth, to putting down the fluffy reading material and mp3 player in favor of meatier things…Hannah is making wiser choices.
“Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord direct our way to you; and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all men, just as we also do for you so that He may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.” I Thessalonians 3:11-13…Hannah’s Blessing
Happy Sophomore Year Sweet Noelle!
